In a large pot, add the mutton bones and water. Bring it to a boil.

Skim off any impurities that rise to the surface.

Add the chopped onion, grated ginger, minced garlic, crushed black peppercorns, turmeric powder, and salt. Stir well.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 2-3 hours or until the mutton bones are tender and the flavors are well-infused.

Once the soup is cooked, strain it to separate the bones and other solids from the liquid.

Discard the bones and solids, and retain the clear soup.

Pour the soup back into the pot and reheat if needed.
