Preparation

Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai over medium heat.

Add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Let them splutter.

Add curry leaves, chopped onion, and slit green chilies. Sauté until onions turn translucent.

Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until raw smell disappears.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.

Add fish pieces and gently coat them with the masala. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add water, cover the pan, and simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until fish is cooked through and the gravy thickens.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Serve the Andra fish curry hot with steamed rice or roti.
