Maki ka roti

Traditional Indian corn flour flatbread

Preparation

In a mixing bowl, add the corn flour and salt.

Slowly add water and knead the flour to make a soft dough.

Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a ball.

Sprinkle some corn flour on a clean surface and place a dough ball on it.

Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough ball into a round-shaped roti of about 6-7 inches in diameter.

Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium heat and place the rolled roti on it.

Cook until brown spots appear on one side, then flip it over and cook the other side.

Brush some ghee on both sides of the roti while it is still on the tawa.

Remove from the tawa and serve hot with sarson ka saag or any curry of your choice.
