Preparation

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Add grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chilies. Sauté for a minute.

Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned.

Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

Cook the masala on medium heat until the oil separates from the mixture.

Add water, cover the pan, and let the chicken cook for about 15-20 minutes or until tender.

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
