Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

Add the yogurt and milk to the flour mixture and mix until well combined. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 2 hours.

After the resting time, divide the dough into 4 equal portions.

Preheat a tawa or a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Take one portion of the dough and roll it into an oval or round shape naan.

Brush one side of the rolled naan with water.

Place the wet side of the naan on the preheated tawa and let it cook for about a minute or until bubbles start to appear.

Flip the naan and cook it on the other side for another minute.

Remove the naan from the tawa and brush it with melted butter or ghee.

Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.

Serve the plain naan hot with your favorite Indian curry or dip.
