Preparation

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl filled with cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This will remove some of the starch and help make the fries crispier.

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the potatoes in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the potatoes for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
