Misal Pav is a popular Maharashtrian street food dish made with sprouted moth beans, spices, and served with pav (bread rolls).

Preparation

Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions. Saute until onions turn golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.

Add misal masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add sprouted moth beans and mashed potatoes. Mix everything together.

Add water to adjust the consistency of the misal. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Garnish misal with cilantro leaves.

To serve, take a portion of misal in a bowl, top it with some farsan (sev), chopped onions, and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Serve hot with pav (bread rolls) on the side.
