In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until they turn translucent.

Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and become tender.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir well to coat.

Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Using an immersion blender or a regular blender, puree the soup until smooth.

Return the soup to the pot and stir in the milk.

Season with salt and black pepper, and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
